→ „has gone” = poszedł (i wciąż tam jest / nie wrócił jeszcze)
I have seen that film. It’s very funny.
→ „widziałem ten film” (kiedyś w przeszłości, doświadczenie życiowe, nieistotne kiedy dokładnie)
We have invited all our friends to the party. It’s next Saturday.
→ „zaprosiliśmy wszystkich znajomych” – czynność już wykonana, efekt jest aktualny (znajomi wiedzą o imprezie)
Karen has bought a new sweater. It’s very soft and warm.
→ „kupił / kupiła nowy sweter” – niedawno / niedawno kupiony, teraz go ma i opisujemy jego cechy
I have cleaned my bike. It was very dirty and now it looks great.
→ „wyczyściłem rower” – czynność zakończona niedawno, rezultat widoczny teraz („teraz wygląda świetnie”)
You have done the ironing. Thank you!
→ „zrobiłeś prasowanie” – czynność zakończona, rezultat jest aktualny (pranie jest wyprasowane, dziękujemy)
Peter has just arrived / has arrived from London. He’s in the living room.
→ obie formy poprawne, ale najczęściej w tej sytuacji mówi się: has just arrived
(„dopiero co przyjechał / właśnie przyjechał” – bardzo niedawno, stąd „just” pasuje idealnie)
They have eaten the whole pizza. There’s nothing left for me!
→ „zjedli całą pizzę” – czynność zakończona, rezultat widoczny teraz (nic nie zostało)
