The Grand Canyon is one of the world’s seven natural wonders. It’s a long deep valley of the Colorado River. It is in Arizona, in the USA. The canyon is 446 kilometres long and, in some places, it is two kilometres deep.
Wielki Kanion jest jednym z siedmiu cudów natury na świecie. To długa, głęboka dolina rzeki Kolorado. Znajduje się w Arizonie, w USA. Kanion ma 446 kilometrów długości, a w niektórych miejscach ma dwa kilometry głębokości.
The view from the top of the canyon is amazing. There is a glass bridge called Skywalk and you can walk on it and look down and see the bottom of the canyon under you. The rocks have got beautiful colours there. Some visitors like hiking and explore the canyon on foot and others go down the river by boat. You can even go rafting on the river.
Widok ze szczytu kanionu jest niesamowity. Jest tam szklany most o nazwie Skywalk i możesz po nim chodzić oraz spojrzeć w dół, żeby zobaczyć dno kanionu pod sobą. Skały mają tam piękne kolory. Niektórzy odwiedzający lubią wędrować i zwiedzać kanion pieszo, a inni spływają w dół rzeki łodzią. Można nawet popłynąć pontonem (rafting).
About four million people visit the Grand Canyon every year. But you must be careful there. It is a dangerous place because the rocks are very hard to climb. Also the sun is very hot in the canyon, and there is not a lot of shade. You have to take a bottle of water with you and a hat.
Około czterech milionów ludzi odwiedza Wielki Kanion każdego roku. Ale trzeba tam uważać. To niebezpieczne miejsce, ponieważ skały są bardzo trudne do wspinania. Słońce w kanionie jest też bardzo gorące, a cienia jest niewiele. Trzeba zabrać ze sobą butelkę wody i kapelusz.
